Bike bought for parts, but too good for that

I thought I was getting a parts bike, but this addition to my garage is in too nice a shape to be parted out.

Left hand side

Note pipes and engine have been painted black. Not like the original, but not bad

Naplam taking first ride on a CL72

Bike was running pretty rough, but did start every time.

Left side air filter cover - note key switch location

Just unscrew the key switch nut and off pops the air filter cover.

Aged air filter

Not sure if this one is original, but it was in pretty bad shape.

Main bore of the left can carb

Note that throttle valve is in the idle position. Air jet was a bit damaged. The two carbs needed to have the cabling sync'ed. Left hand valve began to open after right hand value was already half way open. But right hand carb was not right - better see if it's clogged up, right?

Left hand carb

Note idle needle screw and air jet.

No question about it.

Carbs have been gummed up for a while.

Note float, main jet and slow jet

Main jet was a 120 in one carb and a 125 in the other.
