Here we are. Six months into this project and the site is really starting to take shape. Though there is still plenty of work to go. My main goal was to have something reasonably presentable by Arizona Bike Week 2009 and it looks like we are ready to go!

The wiki is starting to get filled in, the forums are functional, the news is finally formatted properly and the registration is streamlined. Now is time to start inviting all our greasy, gearhead brethren to join!

Here comes the rant:

Let it be known that this is a site by and for motorcyclists, not one of those social networks developed by an internet company that that doesn't know a V4 from an I4 or a carb from a throttle body. When you look at other networks for cars and motorcycles it's inevitably run by a guy that used to be in a tech company, someone with a big name accounting firm, and then some guy who ran a big online flower store or some crap. Then they take pictures next to their dinky little commuter car and say they are the premier site for auto enthusiasts.

That's why I built MyRideIsMe with Craig and Teknikka with my Dad. We can do it better because we know what people like us want and don't want in a website. Hopefully, other people will think we did a good job too.
